JEM'S FILM WINS AN AWARD
MY FILM WINS A PRIZE! BACK
As well as winning the Grand Prize at the prestigious NURT Documentary Festival it’s also a nomination for “Best Current Affairs Production” at the History Makers Award 2011 in New York.
Commissioned by Polish TV channel TVP with the European Broadcasting Union and directed by my now-adopted brother Krzyzstof Rzaczynski, the film (Polish title “Tata zza żelaznej kurtyny”) follows me as I travel to Poland retracing the difficult journey my late father, classical composer Sir Andrzej Panufnik, made in his quest to find the peace to create.
It was a fantastic experience for me as I made discoveries about his amazing story of survival and escape from Nazi-occupied then Communist-controlled Warsaw. Learnt a lot about myself too strangely…
